A Discovery…

I was cleaning stuff out today and I ran across a prescription I never filled from my dermatologist. The prescription says to apply to the RASH and it’s dated July 5, 2012. Coincidence?

I had completely forgotten about this rash. And in fact, that should tell you just how bad my memory was that when I was diagnosed, it never even entered my mind that I had a rash when my symptoms started! As soon as I saw the prescription, I did remember though. It was on my right side just under and around where my bra strap sits. I remember we kept changing detergents, soaps, etc thinking something we were using was irritating me but also thinking it was weird that the rash was only in that one spot if it was some sort of contact dermatitis.

A few weeks after I went to the dermatologist, the rash went away on its own. So could this have been the tick bite? It had been there a few weeks by the time I went to the dermatologist – and I wasn’t even going for the rash, it was for my annual check-up.

It would be wonderful if so because that means I couldn’t have passed it to my son. What a complete and total relief that would be!

I guess I will never know for sure but it seems a little too coincidental that I had a rash at the same time that my symptoms started. It’s too bad the dermatologist didn’t recognize it if that’s what it was. I probably could have been cured if I had been treated then. Oh well, no use getting upset about it now because that won’t change a thing. I think I’ll just be thrilled beyond belief that this could mean I didn’t have it when I was pregnant.

Maybe God was trying to give me a sign. Because I can’t for the life of me figure out why I would have kept a prescription for this long that I never filled. And it’s not like it was hidden away somewhere – it’s been sitting in the bill organizer on our kitchen counter since I got it. As I was cleaning up, I tore it in half preparing to throw it away when the word “rash” caught my eye. And then I saw the date.

I just think it’s too odd and too coincidental. Maybe, just maybe, I finally at least have that answer.
